Anna Ogier-Bloomer (b. 1983, Hartford, CT) was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a feminist artist and photographer whose work has been published widely online, including Feature Shoot, Refinery29, The Huffington Post, The Daily Mail, BUST Magazine, and Float Photo Magazine, among others. She has been a resident at The Wassaic Project in New York and a Feminist-in-Residence at Project for Empty Space in Newark, NJ, where she spoke on a panel Grab Back: Taking Back Power Through Art. An exhibition of work followed the residency.
She is the recipient of numerous grants, including the Awesome Foundation, Chashama, CSArts Cincinnati, and awards from Parsons School of Design, the School of Visual Arts, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her work has been shown at galleries and museums nationally, including Paul Robeson Gallery at Rutgers University Newark, The Contemporary Art Center in Cincinnati, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and at the Attleboro Arts Museum in Massachusetts. Solo and two-person shows include exhibitions in New York, Cincinnati and Wellesley, MA. Ogier-Bloomer has spoken about her work at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York, Gateway Projects in Newark, the School of Visual Arts, and The Bakery Photographic Collective in Portland, ME.
Ogier-Bloomer holds an MFA in Photography & Related Media from Parsons School of Design, an MPS in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts, and a BFA from SMFA at Tufts University. She has taught professional practices at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, served on the graduate faculty at the School of Visual Arts, been an adjunct Assistant Professor at the City University of New York. She also lectures widely on creating and building a sustainable fine arts practice and contributed to the new book, Career Management for Artists, by Stacy Miller, Ed. D.
